Today I stumbled huge garbage left behind by people who don’t care about the environment. It’s sad to say that one of the growing problems is improper waste disposal. I know our barangay designate some information about proper disposing of garbage. Seminar on proper garbage disposing is offered to barangay officials and health workers. But their some people are hardheaded cannot follow the simple disposing of their garbage they will only leave behind with their neighbor’s backyard. Laws and ordinance prohibiting improper disposal of waste in rivers, stems, canals and especially vacant lots are implemented. Improper waste disposal may cause foul odor, diseases, and air pollution of air, soil and water. It’s also providing the breeding grounds for flies, mosquitoes, and other insects. It also invites rats and other diseases causing organism. If we want to save our environment from the problems affecting it, every member of the community should show that each of us has a responsibility of taking care of our environment.

Summer tips
Summertime is here and we been experiencing the El Nino phenomenon and people get sunburn. We must always protect our skin from the sun. It might cause us skin cancer and other skin diseases. To avoid some future problems we should:

Dress for the heat. Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing. Light colors will reflect away some of the sun’s energy. It is also a good idea to wear hats or to use an umbrella.
· Drink water. Carry water or juice with you and drink continuously even if you do not feel thirsty. Drink up 10 glasses of water everyday. Avoid alcohol and caffeine, which dehydrate the body.
· Slow down. Avoid strenuous activity. If you must do strenuous activity, do it during the coolest part of the day, which is usually in the morning between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
· Stay indoors when possible.
· Take regular breaks when engaged in physical activity on warm days. Take time out to find a cool place. If you recognize that you, or someone else, are showing the signals of a heat-related illness, stop activity and find a cool place. Remember, have fun, but stay cool!
· Don’t forget to wear sun block with high SPF.
A key to healthy eating Habits
Having variety of healthy food is the key to a healthy eating habits. Eating fresh fruits is much better than of candy, chocolates, processed juice etc. So, here are my tips for those who want to have a healthy body and a sound mind:
1. Eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods. Enjoy plenty of whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Your daily food selection should include bread and other whole-grain products; fruits; vegetables;
2. Maintain a healthy weight. The weight that’s right for you depends on many factors including your sex, height, age and heredity.
3. Eat moderate portions
4. Eat regular meals. Skipping meals can lead to out-of-control hunger, often resulting in overeating.
5. Reduce, don’t eliminate certain foods. Most people eat for pleasure as well as nutrition. If your favorite foods are high in fat, salt or sugar, the key is moderating how much of these foods you eat and how often you eat them.
Identify major sources of these ingredients in your diet and make changes, if necessary.
6. Balance your food choices over time.

Today we celebrating Valentine’s Day and the air are full of love. I notice that many couples spent their valentines at the mall having their dinner date. My wife and I we celebrate it, attending mass this afternoon and have a simple dinner date with our son.
Anyway, how Valentines Day got started? Why Valentines Day is symbolized or associated with Cupids? Have you ever wondered why? When I was a kid, I used to believe that cupids are part of it. The story of Cupid is about love. Cupid fell in love with Psyche, a mortal. They got married with the condition that Psyche is not allowed to see Cupid. Until one day, she defied this condition but Cupid ran away from her. Consequently, she wanted to be reunited with Cupid. So, Psyche paid a visit to Venus, Cupid’s mother. She did several trials and tests. And she passed. As a reward, Venus reunited Psyche and Cupid. Sooner or later, Cupid and Psyche gave birth to a child named pleasure. So before this day ends, don’t waste time-spent time with your family or friends, life is so short. Make this day a meaningful to others.
More melamine products found in China
Did you know that melamine-tainted dairy products were pulled out from store shelves at Southern China more than a year after hundreds of thousand of children had been sickened in a massive milk safety scandals. The announcement calls into question the effectiveness of a crack down launched by Chinese officials to improve their products safety after a number of scandals, including the contamination of baby formula in 2008 and the recent study of the toxic metal cadmium in cheap jewelry. Frozen milk products and cartons of milk dating from early 2009 were taken off the shelves after health inspector tested them and found with melamine contain by Guizhou provincial government spokeswoman Ling Hu. She said that provincial health bureau was checking some store, they found out some products that have suspected melamine contain has not yet remove from the shelves.
PISA
Pisa become a Roman colony around 180 BC. yet survived the collapse of the Roman Empire to remain a principal urban center and flourishing center of commerce. Because of its participation in the Crusades, it gained valuable contacts with Syrians traders and eventually rivaled Genoa and Venice. Later defeated by the Genoese fleet, Pisa still become a bust center of woolen manufacturing and was also the chief port of Tuscany. The tower of Pisa was originally designed to show the entire world how wealthy the city of Pisa was. The city fortunes eventually turned and the entire found was sold to the city of Florence. Although the town never manged to regains its former wealth. the citizens of this small city in Italy are still showing off their tower.
How to stay on diet…
1. Set some goal- makes chart or program list. Fill in your current weight, then a pounds list of your desire weight. Jot down the numbers of weeks that will take to reach your goal.
2. Don’t expect dieting is easy- there will be hungry days, while doing some diet, don’t get into crush diet make it gradually, adjust it to the smaller amount of food, then most of all lesser your sugar and fatty intake.
3. Never on crush diet- crash diet usually depends on change in water balance for rapid weight loss. Just remember you just lose the fat not the water.
4. Never skip meal- skipping meal will make you hungry that will lead you to long for more food.
5. Take a little bite and eat slowly- you will think you are eating more don’t be alarm our stomach have time to signal when we are full.
6. When you go out to eat try Chinese food- many of their dishes are low in calories.
7. Take a long walk each day after dinner- plan to go bowling, play tennis and strolling instead of watching movie.
8. When you lost five or ten pounds, get a girdle to make yourself shapelier.
9. Get enough sleep so that you will have more will power if you are well rested.
10. Don’t forget to fill up some liquids like tea, water, and lower-calorie soda drink; it can help you fill an empty stomach.
11. Make a note that had help you in your diet. Make them a daily habit.
Time and faith
I guess time determines the moment when we plant or reap on what we sow in our life and the moment when we laugh or cry. I learn that we should appreciate the time and value life. I understand that every minute counts may we wisely invest our second, minutes, hour and day. I say this because of my last experienced, that I disregard an opportunity that could brings me into prosperity life. Now I understand my father always remind me never disregard on small things. I observed nowadays many of us trust in money as the ultimate source of security and happiness, but that’s the wrong concepts about money. Money can’t bring true and lasting happiness. The true-life pleasure are only found in our faith and loves to others. Having also many friends and being rich are great blessing, but popularity and success do not guarantee a happy life. President and Prime Minister may have high approval rating for while but they don’t last. Happiness and contentment found only if we put GOD into the midst of our lives.
Step for relaxation
Perform this exercise twice a day, preferably when you get up in the morning or before going to sleep.
- Stretch your legs, feeling tension in all muscles. Stretch them tighter; hold for a few seconds. Then let go, and feel relaxation spreading through all the muscles of your toes, feet calves and thighs. Repeat with your arms, chest, stomach, and back to your face.
- Take a very slow deep breath exercise, and hold for about 12 seconds, slowly let it out, feeling tension and anxieties pouring out as you do. Repeat it twice.
- Think of pleasant scenes, events and things that make you feel calm and relaxed, feeling relaxation throughout your body. Feel the sensation of relaxation that the scene aroused. Repeat to yourself as you see and experience the scene. I feel calm and relaxed.
- Recall a scene or events that makes you feel tense or angry, and see and feel it as vividly as you can. Switch to calm, relaxed scene immediately. Let yourself feel calm and relaxed, repeat twice. As you remain relaxed, see your tense, angry scene-but this time, don’t let it bother you.
This exercise method helps me a lot, when I’m feeling stress or exhausted in work.
