Alternative Drinks

Soda is not really good for us it have high in fructose. If you are craving sweets or refreshments, you can have the healthy alternatives. Here they are:

1. Tomato juice – contains beta carotene and lycopene

2. Organic soda – that doesn’t contain high fructose. They are fruit-flavored soda. No caffeine at all. It is organic. But it is best to avoid any kind of soda because carbonation affects the stomach. However, carbonation and phosphoric acid in the soda can cause calcium loss in the bones.

2. Apple cider. I love apple cider.

4. Tea or coffee, unsweetened.

Summertime is here and we been experiencing the El Nino phenomenon and people get sunburn. We must always protect our skin from the sun. It might cause us skin cancer and other skin diseases. To avoid some future problems we should:
·

Dress for the heat. Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing. Light colors will reflect away some of the sun’s energy. It is also a good idea to wear hats or to use an umbrella.
· Drink water. Carry water or juice with you and drink continuously even if you do not feel thirsty. Drink up 10 glasses of water everyday. Avoid alcohol and caffeine, which dehydrate the body.
· Slow down. Avoid strenuous activity. If you must do strenuous activity, do it during the coolest part of the day, which is usually in the morning between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
· Stay indoors when possible.
· Take regular breaks when engaged in physical activity on warm days. Take time out to find a cool place. If you recognize that you, or someone else, are showing the signals of a heat-related illness, stop activity and find a cool place. Remember, have fun, but stay cool!
