Step for relaxation

Perform this exercise twice a day, preferably when you get up in the morning or before going to sleep.

- Stretch your legs, feeling tension in all muscles. Stretch them tighter; hold for a few seconds. Then let go, and feel relaxation spreading through all the muscles of your toes, feet calves and thighs. Repeat with your arms, chest, stomach, and back to your face.
- Take a very slow deep breath exercise, and hold for about 12 seconds, slowly let it out, feeling tension and anxieties pouring out as you do. Repeat it twice.
- Think of pleasant scenes, events and things that make you feel calm and relaxed, feeling relaxation throughout your body. Feel the sensation of relaxation that the scene aroused. Repeat to yourself as you see and experience the scene. I feel calm and relaxed.
- Recall a scene or events that makes you feel tense or angry, and see and feel it as vividly as you can. Switch to calm, relaxed scene immediately. Let yourself feel calm and relaxed, repeat twice. As you remain relaxed, see your tense, angry scene-but this time, don’t let it bother you.

This exercise method helps me a lot, when I’m feeling stress or exhausted in work.

Spent wisely

1. A regular allowance, no matter how small, helps give a child a sense of independence and responsibility. He learns how money can be used to buy things he needs or wants.
2. Do not give him more money when he runs short of so that he will learn to limit his expenditures. If he needs to have money badly, give him some but consider it an advance to be deducted from his next allowance.
3. Don’t use money emotionally. Giving money a reward for good behavior or withdrawing or reducing his allowance as punishment for misconduct.
4. Encourage your child to earn. Teach him to earn for future use.
5. Get your children to share in money decision, when buying some expensive things. Discuss it with your children and let them offer suggestion.
6. The important factor is to train your children in managing of money. No child is too young to be train by his parents about money matters, the earlier is the better so that they will value even a single cent how to spent it wisely.

It takes two to tango

People are the most important asset. Whether you like it or not, in today’s world we have to deal with people. Very few of us can afford to go off to the woods to live the lives of hermits. In order to make most of our endeavors successful, we need other people. Mostly prosperous businessman is not necessarily the hardest working one or the brainiest. They are successful in their field because of other people and the way they handle to deal effectively with them. Some of us have this precious knowledge by intuition, but most of us must acquire skills to do it. We need other people to achieve the needs of both parties to be successful. The same applies in everyday life. Effective human relation will work only when we have a good relation with other people.

Life is full of test to strengthen our faith

Everyday is an important day and every second is a growth opportunity to our character, to develop our love or depend to GOD. Some test seems overwhelming while others we don’t notice it. The good news is that GOD wants to pass the test of our life; he allows them to be greater than the grace he gives us trials so we can stand and handle them. The Bible says “ GOD keep his promise and he will not allow you to be tested beyond your power to remain firm; at the time you are put to the test, he will give you the strength to endure it and so provide you with a way out”. Every time we pass the test, God make plans to reward us to eternity. We don’t know the entire test that GOD will give us but we can predict some of them. Sometimes God will test my faith to him, my hope, by how to handle possessions and test my love through other people. That’s why I always pray and ask God for strength, more faith and hope.

Preventing Birth Defects

HenryThe cause of many defects remains a mystery doctors do understand what cause many others and how to prevent them. The Minnesota department of health says before and during pregnancy should do.

- Eat food with a high foliate content or foods enriched with folic acid. Good dietary choices are green leafy veggies, dried beans, oranges and fortified breads, pastas and cereal.

- Before pregnancy and while you are pregnant take a daily multivitamins that include at least 400 micrograms of  folic acid.

- See your doctor for check-up before you are pregnant, and get regular pre-natal care throughout your pregnancy.

- Stop drinking alcohol while you’re trying to conceive and never drink alcohol during pregnancy.

- Make sure the medicines you take are safe during pregnancy. Check with your doctor.

Knowing our purpose in life

Many people spend their lives trying to create a lasting legacy on earth. They want to be remember when they gone. Ultimate matter will not be what others say about our life but on what GOD say’s about us.

Living to create an earthly legacy is a short goal. This people doing creating a legacy for personal interest, they are sure that they are contented on what they doing right now “ NO”. Living in simple life is the one we can show to GOD and to be contented on what we have. If we have so much resources share it to those are in needs. Just like this man he make his living with driving a “tricikad” to support their daily need. His not doing it to be remembered when his gone, he does it for love for his family. God’s want us to be simple and humble to show our love to our brethren. God gave us all the gifts we can use to praise him like our talents, energy, opportunities and resources to fulfill God’s purpose for life. Not to be remembered someday.

Life is so short, dont make it shorter

Last Sunday, I attend mass the message delivered by the priest on he’s homily stuck me. He said we should value life while we still to do so, and take  care of it. If we want to live longer in our life to the fullest we must do something or find ways how we can strengthen it.

In my physical point of view the only way to strengthen our body is to develop our muscles so we can maintain strength and watch our diet. Muscles that are strong can let you move freely and carry your body without difficulty. Some studies shown that moderately depressed people shown that moderately depressed people improve their mental out look when they participate in walking, jogging, and weight training programs. If you are on medication that doesn’t mean you should toss it out and go jogging instead, but you may to considered exercise as another therapy to help minimize feeling blue. Exercise can improves our mood, people are engaged in exercise they say they are more energized and content. If they have anxiety, anger, or stress exercise often can bring them some released or some feeling of peacefulness. Psychological  benefits of physical activity may come from changes within the brain own chemistry, it increased production of serotonin and other  neurotransmitter that improve communication between brain cells. Exercise seems to create similar chemical changes in the brain. Long term changes in brain chemistry take time, but you can feel more revived and charge up from just a single session of exercise.  We don’t have to run 10 kilometers a day or unload a ton of barbell to get this psychological high. It comes with moderate levels of activity. Just a brisk walk for 30 minutes to strengthen our hearts and 20 minutes of strength training are usually enough. Life is short, but don’t make it shorter.

What drives our life?

Everyone’s life is driven something; Drive means to guide, to control, or to direct. Whether you are driving a car, a nail, or a golf ball, you are guiding, controlling and directing it at that moment.

Right now we may driven by our problem, a pressure, or a deadlines. We may be driven by our pain full memory, haunting our fear, or an unconscious belief. There are hundreds of circumtances, values, and emotion that can drive our life. Many people or even me are driven by guilt, they spent they entire life by running from regrets and hiding their shame. They allow their past to control their future. They unconsciously punish themselves by sabotaging their own success. We our product of our past but we don’t have to be a prisoner of it. We should stand and forget the past, past is past. We cannot change it any more but we can prevent it in the future not to happen again. We should look our shortcoming and learn our mistake.” The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what GOD is and by what he does for us”.

Typhoon Ondoy

Last September 29, many people were reported killed and hundreds more missing with the typhoon Ondoy that hit Metro Manila especially in Marikina, Rizal, Pasig, Quezon City, Makati and other parts of the Philippines.

Here some helpful tips during typhoons

1. Keep your radio open and try to get the latest bulletin from the radio stations.
2. Stay away from low-lying beaches or other locations. Which may be swept by high tides or storm waves. If you only passage to high ground is over a road likely to be under water to high ground is over a road likely to be under water during a severe storm, then leave early.
3. Get extra food, especially things which can be eaten with out cooking or with little preparation. Remember that electric power may be cut off.
4. Store water as water service may be cu off.
5. Pay no attention to rumors; rely on the official weather bureau warnings and bulletin.
